EHR Technology

Electronic Health Record Technology

Electronic Health Record (EHR) technology adoption has risen dramatically since 2009, in some states up by 50% or more. The landscape of patient care is changing to electronic documentation, and eventually interoperability – offering data exchange amongst providers in any network and community data reporting capabilities.

EHRs are gaining steam and with the EHR Incentive Program from The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), this is the time to get started. It’s not too late and in addition to some physicians enrolled in the program receiving incentive payments, physicians who take Medicare payments won’t be subject to a payment reduction if they are meaningful users.

The benefits are clear:

  • Better communication with patients
  • Increased accounts receivables
  • Decrease medical and transcribing errors
  • Interoperability
  • Improve patient engagement/satisfaction
