Meaningful Use Support
Meaningful Use

M-CEITA, Michigan’s Regional Extension Center (REC), is the go-to resource for providers throughout the state of Michigan in need of Meaningful Use support.

The much anticipated Final Rule, which revamps the rules of the Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs (Meaningful Use) is finally available. The attestation portion of the Medicare MU Registration and Attestation System (RAS) has been offline for several months for reprogramming to the new "Modified Stage 2" rules; it will be available for 2015 program year attestations on January 4, 2016

The Medicaid MU module within CHAMPS, called eMIPP, will go offline at 12:00am on December 15, 2015 for Modified Stage 2 reprogramming. This will only suspend an EPs ability to attest to a MU reporting period. The ability to register for the first incentive payment, AIU (Adopt/Implement/Upgrade), will remain available throughout this time. The following time line further explains these important dates:

eMIPP (CHAMPS MU module) Program Availability Start    End
 AIU registrations/attestations  1/1/2015  4/30/2016
Payment Year 1: Stage 1 Year 1 (using old rules) MU registrations and attestations (Providers who chose MU in payment year 1 instead of AIU)  4/1/2015  12/11/2015
Payment Year 2: Stage 1 Year 1 (using old rules) MU registrations/attestations (Providers who previously chose AIU in payment year 1 and are currently reporting MU in 2015 for payment year 2 using old rules)  4/1/2015  12/14/2015
“Modified Stage 2” (new MU rules) registrations and attestations (All EPs attesting to MU for 2015 program year under new MU rules) 2/14/2016
 4/30/2016
